Winter doesn't have to mean the end of golf practice. With the right equipment and routine, you can return to the course in spring with improved skills.
Indoor Practice Categories
Indoor golf practice falls into three main categories: full swing practice with a net, short game work, and putting. Each requires different equipment but can be done in a small space.
Full Swing Practice
Use a practice net and hitting mat for full swings. Focus on technique rather than distance. Record your swing on video for analysis. Work on specific drills rather than just hitting balls.
Short Game Work
Chipping and pitching require less space. Use foam balls for indoor safety. Practice different trajectories and landing spots. The short game improves fastest with regular indoor practice.
Putting Practice
Indoor putting is the easiest practice to maintain. A 6-8 foot putting mat fits anywhere. Work on distance control and alignment. Practice 3-footers for confidence on the course.
